Freehold Township Bulk Collection Schedule
Freehold Township Bulk Collection is starting in our neighborhoods. Once our streets are cleared, they will not be returning. This is a great time to organize and to get rid of all the clutter to make more space in your home. If you need more space at home, I can assist you with finding the perfect one.
Bulk Collection Criteria
- Items collected are household items, including sofas, chairs, tables, carpeting, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, ovens, barbeque grills and toys.
- The following items are excluded from pickup: items weighing over 200 pounds, leaves, rocks and stones, stumps, logs, brush, slate, concrete, motor vehicles or their components (batteries, tires, wheels, etc.), building materials, construction trash, metal pipe and barrels, recyclables or hazardous materials, appliances containing free-on (refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners), electronics (such as televisions, stereos, computers, etc.)
- Bulk collection is limited to 8 cubic yards and no larger than 8 feet in length and 8 inches in diameter.
2023 Bulk Collection Schedule
- Sectors A, B and C – Week of September 25th
- Sectors D, E and F – Week of October 10th
Residents need to show proof of residency to bring their items to the recycling center. The following ID is acceptable: driver’s license, tax or utility bill. Permitted drop-offs are limited to 6 per year. No vehicles larger than a pickup truck nor commercial vehicles will be permitted into the recycling center.

- Replace HVAC Filters: Clean or replace HVAC system filters. This will improve indoor air quality and make sure the system works properly. You can purchase filters to assist those who have allergies, too.
- Inspect and Clean Fireplace/Chimney: Fireplaces should be inspected and cleaned by a professional before use in the fall to prevent fires.
- Weatherproof Doors and Windows: Check and replace weather stripping around doors and windows to prevent heat loss in the house.
- Inspect Insulation: Check that your attic insulation is in good condition. This will help to keep your home warm during the colder months.
General Tasks To Do:
- Fall Yard Cleanup: Trim trees and bushes, rake leaves, and prepare your garden for winter. This will prepare your yard for the spring. Now would be the time to plant spring bulbs. Check the fall clean up schedule for your town.
- Check Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Test and replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are working correctly. Also check your fire extinguisher did not expire.

It’s no surprise that this time of year produces record temperatures and hot humid days. The perfect solution are New Jersey Beaches! Spen the ay or just an evening by our shoreline and enjoy the ocean breeze and fun in the sun. There’s nothing like feeling the sand between your toes while ejoying a good book or taking in the scenery.
Each beach is managed by its town. There are different rules and restrictions for each. Also a daily fee may be required or you can buy an seasonal pass. Information can be found on each town’s website. Most towns offer on street parking, but some have additional areas with metered parking or offer lots where you can pay for the day. Be sure to check it out before heading towards the water.
As the summer season moves forward different beaches offer concerts, sporting events, movies at the beach or fireworks. The busy beach holidays are Memorial Day which marks the opening of the season, the 4th of July and Labor Day. There are parades to watch and celebrations to take part in. Truly fun for all ages.

- Many buyer are anxious about termite inspections. I like to point out that it’s a good thing if the house has already been treated. Not only does the house have a layer of protection, but often the warranty this treatment is transferrable to the new owner. The buyer would continue to make payments so the warranty stays current. Furthermore, if further treatment needs to be done, the warranty will cover that. If termites are found to be present during your home inspection, a termite treatment would be requested. A pest control company is contacted to schedule a treatment. You should always confirm the warranty details with each company.

Senior Center Events In Freehold Township
Why is Freehold Township so desirable? There is something to do in May for all ages.
The Freehold Township Senior Center is located at 116 Jackson Mills Rd, Freehold Township, NJ 07728 in Michael J.Tighe Park. It is easily accesed by Route 9 and Jackson Mills Road. This space is even available for parties and events and I have been there for a few, such as a sports banquet for Freehold Towship High School.
Events at this location run all year long. You are also within a Freehold Township park to enjoy the area outside.
Spring is in the air. Just moved here? It’s a geat time to get out an meet new neighbors. If you are looking for companionship, new hobby interests or events to attend with those closer in age, why not check out the schedule of events?
