Holmdel Township / Monmouth County

Holmdel Township is home to many beautiful parks and areas of recreation including the well-known open theater of the PNC Arts Center. Purchase tickets for a seat, under cover or not, or just sit back and relax on the great lawn and enjoy the show. Located directly off the Garden State Parkway Exit 116, you are easily guided to the stadium. To avoid the traffic entering the parking lot, here’s a tip…exit the GSP an exit prior, as there is an entrance to the back lot off of Crawfords Corner Road. You turn right into the lot and done!

Holmdel Park is absolutely a beautiful park in all seasons. It is part of the Monmouth County Park System. You can see many having picnics, enjoying the trails and playground. This park has a nationally accredited 5K trail for the running enthusiasts and it is known as one of the toughest courses to complete. In the fall you will see many cross country meets here including runners, elementary school age through college, competing in local meets or state championships. About 2 miles in you will approach “The Bowl” which takes you down a steep decline and around back up to the top of the hill. It is very steep to walk, but when completed it offers a great workout. There are event rest areas with suggestions of exercises to get a full workout. Just here for the sites, along this trail you are met with sounds of nature and the deep lush woods.

Located at Holmdel Park is the Longstreet Farm, an old working farm. You can get a glimpse of what farm life was like back in the 1890s. There are animals here, too. The pig pen is a favorite to children. Longstreet Farm allows visitors to just view the sites or you can sign up for a guided tour where history of the farm is given by those dressed in outfits relating to the historic time period. Holmdel Park is beautiful in all seasons, but it absolutely breathtaking in the autumn as the leaves change colors.
