Colts Neck is a scenic town located near major Routes 18, 34 and 537. You can see horse farms and lots of acreage with older or more contemporary homes. Many come to golf at the Pebble Creek Golf Club. Dorbrook Park located on Rte 537 is part of the Monmouth County Park System. It is a place that many enjoy for all activities. There is a trail around the park. Many bike, skate, walk or run. For the hot days , the spray park is open and offers a way to cool off. There are barbeque areas for those having parties there. There is a large playground area with a rubber floor to prevent scraped knees. The park has 2 sections, so the younger ones can get around, too. The Monmouth County Parks Department has many classes that are held here. As a resident of Monmouth County, you will receive a magazine for seasonal classes year round. There are classes for kids or adults regarding all interests, from sports, paint, music, swimming, nature hikes, trips and more. Your kids can even take a cooking class, with or without a parent. There are many programs for toddlers and younger with parents, too which is a great social network for new parents with children the same age. When looking for a bite after the park, Huddy’s Inn or the Colts Neck Inn is right down the road. You can make it a day, by heading to Eastmont Orchards for apple or pumpkin picking…a New Jersey fall favorite. Heading east past the park will will find yourself in other towns like Tinton Falls, Shrewsbury and Rumson which lead to the Navesink River.
