Freehold Township Bulk Pickup: What to Know Before You Clean Out

If clutter has been taking over your garage, basement, attic, or spare room, Freehold Township bulk pickup is a great opportunity to clear things out and make more space in your home.

Bulk Collection is starting in Freehold Township neighborhoods. Once your street has been cleared, crews will not be returning, so it is important to have your items ready when collection reaches your neighborhood.

Whether you are preparing for a move, getting your home organized, or simply ready for a fresh start, this is a good time to tackle those larger household items that cannot go out with your regular trash.

What Can Be Put Out for Bulk Collection?

Freehold Township’s bulk collection includes many common household items, including:

• Sofas and chairs
• Tables
• Carpeting
• Dishwashers
• Washing machines
• Dryers
• Ovens
• Barbecue grills
• Toys

Before putting items at the curb, however, make sure they meet the collection requirements.

What Is Not Accepted?

There are several items that are excluded from bulk pickup. These include:

• Items weighing more than 200 pounds
• Leaves
• Rocks and stones
• Stumps, logs, and brush
• Slate and concrete
• Motor vehicles and vehicle components, including batteries, tires, and wheels
• Building materials and construction debris
• Metal pipe and barrels
• Recyclables
• Hazardous materials
• Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners containing Freon
• Electronics, including televisions, stereos, and computers

Bulk collection is also limited to 8 cubic yards, with individual items no larger than 8 feet in length and 8 inches in diameter.

Know Your Bulk Collection Schedule

The schedule provided by Freehold Township included the following collection dates:

Sectors A, B and C: Week of September 21
Sectors D, E and F: Week of October 5

Because collection schedules can change, residents should check with Freehold Township for the current schedule before putting items out.

Another Option: The Recycling Center

If you have items that cannot wait for bulk collection, Freehold Township residents may also be able to bring permitted materials to the recycling center.

Residents must show proof of residency. Acceptable identification includes a:

• Driver’s license
• Tax bill
• Utility bill

Drop-offs are limited to six per year. In addition, vehicles larger than a pickup truck and commercial vehicles are not permitted.

For the most current recycling and collection information, check with Freehold Township before making a trip.

A Great Time to Declutter
